Apple should then release the iPhone 14 in these colors

You’ve probably already heard the news. Earlier this week, Apple released a new yellow color for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. Does it look good? I certainly think so! It’s a bright, vibrant and saturated yellow that adds a lot of pizzazz to a mostly muted color palette for the iPhone 14 series.

But as much as I like the yellow, it’s not the only color I’d like to see the iPhone appear in. There are So lots of possibilities for future iPhone colors, and if Apple is looking for a few tips on what to do, I have some suggestions. Here are five other colors the iPhone 14 should come in next.

Dark green

While we don’t have a green iPhone 14, Apple was a big fan of the color last year with the iPhone 13 family. In March 2022, the company released two shades of green for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, including a standard green for the former and a more muted alpine green for the latter.

A dark green iPhone 14 wouldn’t look all that different from the green iPhone 13, so I can see why Apple didn’t go down this route. But given how damn good the green iPhone 13 looked, I wish it had! Apple could have come up with a more saturated green to differentiate the two models just now enough while still delivering a green iPhone hue that looks great.

Gray

I can hear you now. “Of all the colors you could wish for, you have chosen gray?” It’s a dull-sounding color, I know, but I think it would be a solid addition to the iPhone 14 color range. Black is great for people who want an ultra-low-profile look, while white is a stronger, brighter option .

But what if you want something in between? A matte gray iPhone 14 would go perfectly with that. It would also look excellent paired with a Space Gray M2 MacBook Pro. Call it boring if you like, but I’d love to see a gray iPhone 14 join the ranks.

Mint

Coming back to something more visually interesting: can you imagine a mint iPhone 14? It could be some kind of recall to the green color Apple used in 2019 for the iPhone 11, which had a very light, minty hue. Now that it’s been a few years, it would have been a perfect time to bring it back.

I find there’s something so soothing about a good mint color. It looks refreshing and peaceful and is not something we often see in the smartphone design world. Apple has made a great mint color once before, and with the iPhone 14, I wish we’d seen it again.

Orange

In all its years of making iPhones, Apple has never released an orange model. Why? Your guess is as good as mine, but I think it’s about time Apple changed that. The iPhone 13 was rumored to come in orange, just like the iPhone 14 Pro. But over and over it never happens.

As my quick mock-up shows, what an orange iPhone 14 would have looked like incredible. It is not as intense as (Product) Red and is a darker shade than yellow. I think the correct approach here would be a bright, saturated orange rather than something dark and muted. We ultimately didn’t get that with the iPhone 14, but I sure wish we had.

Purple

Last but certainly not least, how good would a purple iPhone 14 have looked? The iPhone 14 Pro is already available in the beautiful deep purple color, so combining the iPhone 14 with a similar (but different) purple color would have added great symmetry between the two models.

If Apple had gone the purple route, it would have been great to see a bolder, more saturated purple color. The deep purple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are very dark and subdued, appearing almost gray under certain lighting conditions. A more intense purple for the iPhone 14 would have been extremely cool to see.
