Nancy Meyers is working on a major romantic comedy-drama for Netflix and much has already been announced about the upcoming project, including exclusive news that What’s on Netflix was first announced. Here’s everything we know about the unnamed project with the working title of Paris Paramount.
The Nancy Meiers movie was first announced by Deadline to be in development at Netflix in April 2022. At the time, the project was described as an “ensemble comedy.”
Meyers will serve as the writer, producer and director of the Netflix movie and is best known for titles like It’s complicated, Private BenjaminAnd Something has to give.
While this is the first major project Netflix is working on with Meyers, they worked on the Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish), which was released on Netflix’s social channels during the pandemic.
We would like to emphasize that no official announcement has been made about the title of the movie. Paris Paramount is a codename/working title used in multiple locations and refers to the project.
The reported budget for the film is over $100 million, with Puck News at $130 million.
Of course, a Netflix movie budget is not comparable to a traditional movie budget. As Joe Russo recently explained The gray man (which exceeded $200 million), “Netflix is distinctly different from other studios in that they have buyouts that go against budget. And so you know, when you say $200 million at Netflix, that’s different from $200 million at, say, Disney.
Mary Venieu serves as casting director for the film, with Kira Goldberg working on the project from the end of Netflix.
What is the plot of Paris Paramount on Netflix?
So far, only a brief synopsis of the movie has surfaced:
“A talented young writer/director falls in love with a producer, and the pair go on to make several blockbuster films before calling it quits romantically and professionally. However, the two are forced back together when a great new project emerges, and they find themselves teaming up again, dealing with high stakes and fleeting stars.
THR notes that the film’s story reportedly bears parallels to Meyers’ own life.
This will be a big cast with at least eight main characters and five minor supporting characters from what we’ve heard so far.

We first reported on Feb. 10 that Netflix was in talks and looking for three main stars for the movie in the form of Scarlet Johansson, owen wilson, And Penelope Cruz.

It is worth noting that no deals have been signed for any of the four actors and actresses as of yet.
Where and when does production take place for Paris Paramount?

According to production sources seen by What’s on Netflix, the current plan is to film between May and August 2023.
In January 2023, Meyer posted on her Instagram that she was back on a studio lot. It’s unclear if that had anything to do with this project.
