Valorant patch 6.04 has arrived with a brand new Act update featuring the new agent, Gekko. There are also a few other updates and fixes in the patch for Riot’s tactical shooter and here’s everything you need to know.
Valorant Episode 6 Act 2 is now live on the servers with the release of update 6.04 and there are plenty of new additions to enjoy. On top of the obvious Battle Pass and the usual changes that come with each new Act, Riot has also released a brand new Initiator, Gekko.
Also note that none of the other agents were affected by this update. However, there are quite a few other changes that affect your in-game experience. That said, let’s take a look at all the changes and new additions with update 6.04 in the game.

Valorant update 6.04: Introducing Gekko and performance updates
Gekko is undoubtedly the biggest attraction of update 6.04 in Valorant. He is the sixth Initiator in the game and also the third Agent to come from the United States. Don’t forget to check out our Gekko hub to learn all about Valorant’s newest agent.
Since no other agents were affected by this update, the patch focuses entirely on in-game achievements and bug fixes. The changes in update 6.04 mainly focus on reducing input latency by updating thread synchronization.

Performance updates
- Updated thread synchronization to reduce input latency
- Input latency improved by ~1 frame for players who meet all of the following criteria:
- They have NVIDIA Reflex/AMD Anti-Lag not available/enabled.
- They have enabled multithreaded rendering.
- They use VSYNC.
- Input latency improved by ~1 frame for players who meet all of the following criteria:
Bug fixes
Agents
- Fixed a bug where if Sage’s Barrier Orb was damaged while boosting, it would boost to full health instead of going to max health minus the damage dealt while boosting.
Gameplay Systems
- Fixed a bug where skills such as Sova Drone pushing through the Lotus doors to other players could continue to push players even after the door stopped or the players exited the doors area.
Performance
- Fixed a hitch where game mode related UI loads in a blocking way on game launch.
