Marvel Studios will reportedly abandon two of Netflix’s Daredevil stars for Disney+s Reborn Restart.

Fans of Netflix Daredevil are thrilled to see Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk rejoin the MCU in Phase 4. The arch-rivals will soon reunite for Episode 18 Daredevil: Born Againbut it currently remains unclear how many of the original cast will be coming along for the reboot.

While it’s been confirmed that Cox and D’Onofrio will reprise their roles, the fate of Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson remains unclear after serving as Netflix show leads and key companions to Murdock.

Ann Woll in particular has been open about her desire to return Rebornsaying she would sign up “in the blink of an eye.” But at the time of her last comments in October 2022, the Karen Page actress was doubting her return as she was clear that “[Marvel] not told [her]” something.

Towards the end of Netflix’s DaredevilAnn Woll’s Karen Page had changed from the office manager at Nelson and Murdock to a name in their next legal venture, Nelson, Murdock and Page.

The same report revealed that Jon Bernthal will be returning as the Punisher from Daredevil Season 2 and its own spin-off series The punisher. The living Dead actor joins the cast of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and more as filming begins in New York City.

Marvel Studios and Disney have yet to respond to The Hollywood Reporter’s claims at this time.

Why Daredevil: Born Again fails Karen & Foggy

At the end of Netflix Daredevil, the trio of Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson and Karen Page formed their own new law firm. Of Reborn now that it’s said to be a full-fledged legal drama, it’s hard to imagine those characters having no part, provided the original series remains canon.

Daredevil: Born Again will shoot its 18-episode season in New York City from now through the end of 2023, ahead of a scheduled spring 2024 premiere. change during the year and can be called upon to shoot some scenes.

Alternatively, Marvel Studios may choose to recast these characters for reasons that are unclear. Though that scenario seems rather unlikely with Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Jon Bernthal all returning, especially with the original actors seemingly still interested in coming back.

Perhaps Marvel Studios will choose to leave out Nelson and Page Reborn to give Murdock new legal companions. To some extent, this move would make sense to avoid having to continue plot threads from the Netflix series and create continuity issues.

On the other hand, when Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, announced the announcement Daredevil reboot at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, he praised the “18 episodes first season.” That particular terminology seems to hint at a chance for a season 2 renewal, which would have the potential to bring back even more of the Netflix cast.

Daredevil: Born Again is expected to release on Disney+ in Spring 2024.
