A leading Bradford pharmacist has been included in a list of the ’50 Most Influential Black, Asian and Ethnic Minorities in Healthcare’.

dr. Mahendra Patel OBE, who has devoted his career to addressing health inequalities through the pharmacist profession, was named a “rising star” by the Health Service Journal.

The list is supported by the NHS Race & Health Observatory.

His accolades include improvements in the prevention of type 2 diabetes in South Asians, saving millions of pounds for the NHS in wasted medicines, developing drug treatments to prevent hospitalization from Covid-19, and much more.

dr. Patel said: “It’s nice to be recognized.

“It’s not just about inclusion and diversity, it’s about how we can help, support, influence and celebrate people and make a difference.

“It’s about improving health and health outcomes across the spectrum.”
