One dead and two injured after a shooting in Oakland at 44th Avenue and International Boulevard. The police confirm that it was an attempted robbery of a Brinks truck on Friday afternoon.

Just before 2 p.m., police received a report of a shooting at this location. Officers found two people with gunshot wounds. One of the gunshot victims was taken to hospital, the other died on the spot. The person who died has not been identified. Police would not say whether the deceased person was the suspect in the attempted robbery.

Police said another person with gunshot wounds later arrived at a local hospital under his own power. The detectives are trying to find out how that person was involved. Two firearms were found at the scene.

Oakland Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong has briefed the situation from the scene. He said an employee of Brinks and a bystander were shot and injured. Armstrong said a white vehicle occupied by several people is involved in this case.

“We’re looking for information and videos related to that vehicle and those people in that vehicle. We’re also trying to identify them,” Armstrong said. No arrests have been made.

Skyfox flew across the stage. There were plenty of clues near an armored Brinks truck outside a Napa Auto Parts store. Witnesses said they heard as many as 20 gunshots and screams.

Chief Armstrong said this is an active scene. This is the 92nd murder this year. The Federal Bureau of Investigation supports this investigation.

This latest incident concludes a deadly week in Oakland.

“It has been a rough week in the city of Oakland. We have clearly seen several murders this week. We ask the community to continue to provide information to help us solve these crimes. We also ask the community to continue getting rid of the weapons that continue to plague our community,” Armstrong said.
