STATEN ISLAND, NY — Midland Beach’s Turtle Circle will host a late summer health show on Saturday, according to a media report from the office of Councilman Michael Tannousis.

Tannousis (R-East Shore/South Brooklyn) will host the “Boardwalk Bash” on the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Boardwalk in conjunction with Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island/South Brooklyn) and Staten Island University Hospital.

“It is always an honor to partner with Staten Island University Hospital to host this event,” Tannousis said. “They are a wonderful resource to our community, and thanks to the wonderful men and women they have to help the people of Staten Island, we can provide invaluable health screenings and safety tips to members of our community.”

Malliotakis, Tannousis’ predecessor in the Assembly chair, started the event during her time as a state representative, and it offers locals the chance to learn a variety of health and safety tips.

This year’s event features resources such as mammography referrals, fire safety tips, heart health screenings, naloxone training, substance abuse prevention, according to a press release from Tannousis’ office.

“The Boardwalk Bash is not only a great opportunity for families and seniors to get out and have fun, but it also serves as a valuable opportunity to share important health and safety information,” Tannousis said. “Especially as summer comes to an end and the school year begins, it’s so important to monitor our health and prepare for the coming fall and winter months.”
