Where can you send your kids if Seattle teachers go on strike Monday?

You may not have to keep your kids at home if the teachers’ strike continues this week. Here are some options.

  • Boys & Girls Club (select sites)

Eligible: Families have already registered with B&G. New families can attend the Rotary Club at 201 19th Ave, 206-436-1880.

Where: Wallingford, Rainier Vista, MLK, Ballard, View Ridge, North Seattle

When: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cost: $25/day

  • Seattle City Walk-in Centers for Students Ages 5-12: FREE!

These sites are all currently full of waiting lists. Slots can open up though, so it’s worth checking. This was tricky for me to navigate, so I’ll explain what I did: first I created an account with the city and then clicked through to this press release. I scrolled down to the walk-in centers where these “strike recreation activity hubs” are planned. If you’re logged in, you should be able to add the activity to your cart.

When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: $85/day

Where: Good Shepherd Center (Wallingford), 4649 Sunnyside Ave N #121, Seattle, WA 98103

When: 9-4 & 8-6

Cost: free for teachers

$80/day from 9am to 4pm

$95/day 8am to 6pm
