After a few hours, the rude comments piled up and Hendricks was forced to respond.
In a follow-up message also posted via Instagram, Hendricks expressed his shock and disappointment at how some fans reacted to her renovation update.
“I have so lovingly brought this house back to life after years of neglect and a makeover in the 1980s. I am a true lover of old houses and their charms and have made every effort to preserve all the old historical details, ‘ she wrote in the caption.
Hendricks continued: “It breaks my heart to see comments that I’m ruining an old house. This house was going to be sold to a developer to tear it down and put more units on it, so I’m so glad I saved an old 1908.” craftsman. I found this beautiful @americh.corp #bow bath that is beautifully retro and fits the style of the house. And these gorgeous @franzviegener faucets and towel bars just sparkle! @beverlyhillsorganizer.”
Many fans used the comments to show their support for the actress and all she has done.
“Looks great!! You’re doing a great job, ignore the haters.”, a sweet fan reminded the two innovators.
“People are so strange. I think you put so much care into this house, you can tell it’s a real passion project. Thanks for sharing all the progress,” someone else applauded.
Another fan spoke to Hendrick’s few wise words: “Honey, what you are doing in your new home is BEAUTIFUL! Every detail is beautiful and shows your good taste. Don’t listen to comments from people who are very bored and like to do damage. I’m watching looking forward to seeing the rest of the house I LOVE YOU!”
Hendricks bought the house two years ago, but didn’t begin documenting the renovation until July of this year.
She shared a video on her Instagram, noting that the task was “stressful” and jokingly saying that she wanted to start a “support group” for others going through the same thing as it can be very “difficult”.
Even with all the unexpected twists and turns of remodeling, it seems to come together very nicely – and we can’t wait to put the finishing touches!
